Combative wins…

It’s unusual to see a Savabeel filly in the Melbourne yearling sale, but that’s where we found Combative, who won at her third start last weekend. She was Lot 13 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in 2016, a well-grown brown filly offered by Rosemont Stud. A fiery girl, she found a gap and surged to the lead in the 1400m event. Okay, it was a maiden, but we are excited about the upside to Combative, who gives the impression she will handle 1600m against better quality fields. Combative is raced by the principals of Thompson Creek Thoroughbreds and their friends, with Rosemont retaining a share. This was the first step – bigger strides lie ahead.
